It is the body, where the organs are.

Oh! :O Wouldn't it be impractical to have the organs placed like that? Easy to get hurt. Kinda. And in front of the "face". But anyway, it's an awesome looking squid-thing!

Squids and octupus swim with their heads first, so it is not really in front of the "face". We don't have our hearts in the head, so I don't see why it would be inpractical to have them elsewhere. If you're intelligent you might know where to attack, but if you're not, how would you know which tentacle to aim for?

You have a point there. :) But it's easier for it get hurt that way anyway, insted of having the organs in the middle like... Under the head or somewhere. I was thinking that it could get hurt by other things than attacking creatures as well. Where do normal octopuses have their organs btw? I never thought about that before... *off to check*

Perhaps this squid monster would evolve an exoskeleton or carapace around the vital, vulnerable parts where the organs are. A turtle squid comes to mind.

$2 a month is nothing for the amount of content and quality you'll receive from Monsters By Email. I'm sure you could miss out on a Starbucks or McDonalds once a month to have such beautiful monsters sent to you. Not only that but you'll be helping a fellow artists achieve his dream of drawing monsters full time. Well worth it I think.

Once again a fantastic monster Nick! It creeps the heck out of me lol
