Welcome to dungeon level 2.

The water pouring down through the staircase well, gathers in two canals running through the main corridors of this level. The canals are deep (30 feet), and along the surface of them swim strange luminous fish. These unevenly distributed moving sources of light make for an eerie atmosphere. Together with the distant clicking and rasping sounds of the Ne'fean, and dropping water, this is a unnerving place to walk through.

In the image our hero has brought a magical source of light (seen to the right). This may be a level 1 spell, or a trinket found on the previous level, but some sort of light source is necessary for exploring the narrow winding tunnels and mazes extending to the sides of these main corridors. Though we came to this dungeon with a couple of torches, they may already be burnt out... and they're not very good for exploring the canals anyway.

This is the main level for the Ne'fean who live in great numbers here. They are water-loving creatures, and though their highly reflective night-vision eyes may be spotted from afar, they may also suddenly jump out of the water.

In these straight corridors it may be tempting to rush forward, but it is not very good idea. Did that floor tile sound differently? Is it broken? Can you lift part of it and reveal some hidden compartment? Is a circle missing from one of the pillars?

Let's explore!

If you don't know what a Na'fean is, or if you missed level one, just start out at the beginning: [link]

This is awesome. I'm writing a book and a part of it will take in the dungeons of an ancient monastery. I imagined them being really old in design and unusual. Also damp and full of water from the river above them, though a bit more in ruin than yours.
You concept goes very well with my story. I'll integrate it into my book, if you don't mind. The major design parts, but with my personal details for the dungeon.
Also, your idea makes me think of Legend of Grimrock [link]. Its sorta of what you are trying to do. I really like that game and if you manage to do something similar, but unique in its own way, that will be an amazing game.
Best of luck!
