Only about 6 hours here. I just needed some dark action... and stole some time for painting...
From the shadows came shadow. From the fire came flame. The demon was not of tormented flesh or bone, but strode out of the Abyss as living shade. When it exhaled great fires spread across the sky, and the shadows turned to black stone and coal. As the heat increased the shape solidified, until the fire and shade were like a furious mountain. The beast roared in diabolical anguish; and at once the whole valley was purged in pure hell. A Sharlor Agnith was reborn. The kingdom gone.
I like the use of fuzzy visuals to suggest a heat haze around the demon, and the flames are top notch. My only slight reservation is that at first glance it looks like part of the creature's head is obscured by a gout of flame. On closer examination, the illusion is caused by the head being a slightly odd shape.
Thanks! Do you mean to the right? of its left cheek-mouth-eye? (In that case I get your point)... Otherwise, feel free to pinpoint the location, so that I can make adjustments, if I agree...
Yes, that's right. When I first looked at it, I interpreted the space between its face and its left horn-like growth as being a gout of fire coming from the mouth. I can see that's not the case now, it was just the way I was looking at it.
I liked the overall composition and use of color in the picture. The colors used on the monster provided a solid enough contrast for me to pick out all of the different body parts without any issue. The only thing I had a problem with was picking out the other elements in the picture, such as the man standing on the ledge. The lack of clarity caused by the blur created a few issues with identifying elements, but at the same time it compelled me to look farther into the picture to see what else I may have missed.
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
A Special Collection of photographs i found this month that still haunts my mind. Show them some love There are always some i can`t include due to space, i try to make the features under 50 deviations to give them better exposure
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
