Not sure if you'll get around to answering this, since you get so many comments and such, but I wanted to ask you a question.
So I can see you do a LOT of designing, and I really want to get into character/concept art. So what I wanted to ask, is how do you come up with all these ideas? Is it just random things that pop into your head, or is it a process? What did you work on to learn the style you use? Any tips?
The great majority of my designs are things that "pop into my head". However, rather than popping into my head, they pop up upon the canvas, while I sketch. I "think" with my pen. As I sketch forms I see things, and as I work on the forms I see, new ideas arise. I also watch (study) most nature shows on tv, live animals, and the imaginary creatures of other artists. When I watch flowers, fruits, plants, roots, and other phenomena I also try to draw inspiration from them, and try to understand how Mother Nature "thinks" when she performs her impressive design work.
(If you want to learn more about the process I use to come up with my design, there is PLENTY of information in my two Creature Sets HERE: monstersbyemail.com/previouspe…)
